When the temptation comes to give up, we need the spiritual encouragement to keep pushing through. In Luke 18, Jesus spoke a parable to His disciples about the importance of continual prayer.

The perverse judge cared neither for justice nor the plight of the widow. He was shameless, and without fear of God - and yet the insistence of the widow inclined him to bring about justice in the end.

The judge was persuaded to surrender to the widow because of her relentlessness. The powerful comparison Jesus makes is from the lesser to the greater: if even a sinful judge heeds insistent prayer, how much greater our heavenly Father, who cares for us, and is sinless? God will take care of His beloved ones, and that is why we can have absolute confidence in praying His will. Like Jesus said, we must pray, and never give up.
