The Love of God
John 3:16

The true God is a God of both perfect love and perfect justice. Jesus' message to Nicodemus is that salvation showcases both.

In John 3:16, we can see the breadth of God's love displayed to all humanity by sending his perfect Son to die. His common grace is given to all in the way that He sustains human life and nature whether men are good or evil. His salvific grace is poured out on those who come to know Him through Jesus Christ.

The measure of His love is given in this verse: that He would give His only and beloved Son! It is nothing less than a picture of God's kindness to give Jesus Christ to sinners.

The result of His kindness is that whoever believes in Jesus is saved. Anyone who comes to truly know Him is forgiven. God's grace is sufficient to save the worst of sinners.
