Four Reasons to Praise God (Part 2)
The Bible says that God does not change. Hebrews 13:8, “Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.” Malachi 3:6, “For I, the LORD, do not change...”. This is especially poignant for the people of God as they seek to praise Him. Last week we saw that we can praise God for His Word and His Sovereign Works. This week we are going to look at two more reasons to praise God.
The 3rd Reason to Praise God is because He is Righteous Ruler (33:13-15). He observes and evaluates all people according to His standard. His standard is perfect righteousness. In fact, the word ”sin” means to miss the mark, or fail to meet this high standard. God knows the thoughts and intentions of the hearts of men and fully understands why they do what they do (33:15). He is their Creator and they cannot escape His judgment. Praise be to God that there is no condemnation for those in Christ Jesus (Rom 8).
The 4th Reason to Praise God is because of His Great Love (33:16-19). When it comes to military action, there is no victory unless God wills it. A mighty army or great military strength is not a guarantee of victory (33:16-17). It is the Lord that gave Israel its victories. God demonstrates His great love for His elect (Israel) in the Old Testament and His elect in the New (The Church). For those that fear God and who hope in Him, they will not be disappointed (33:18).
Rejoice in the Lord and trust in Him! Praise Him for His word, works, righteousness, and love for you (33:22)!
