Our new purpose as Christians is to live life for the glory of God. Our union with Christ affects all relationships in our lives.
Therefore, marriage is an extension of our walk with the Lord.
Wives can submit to their husbands as also the Church loves, and submits to the Lord. This is beautiful and fitting; the way God has designed us to live. Husbands are to love their wives sacrificially, committing themselves to lifelong service without expecting anything in return.
Christ exemplifies this in his relationship with the Church: He has not become embittered with us.
In this way, when we live as God intended, we can be a light for Him here on this earth.
