The Pursuit of Service
Joshua 24:14-15

The Setting of service is sovereign grace. Joshua reminds Israel that God had provided everything they had. Do we serve God to earn His favour, or in response to what He has already done?

The System of service is based on reverential fear, sincerity, and truth. The ground of service is a sight of the majesty of God, and our gratitude to Him. Our service is only acceptable when sincere and true.

The Stumbling block to service is our idolatry. We must remove anything we give affection to wrongly; God is to exclusively receive our worship. God sets the standard of what true and acceptable service is.

The Summary of service is obedience and worship. May the Lord guide our service to Him in a way that is acceptable.
