The Parables of Jesus Christ
Faithful Till He Returns
Matthew 24:45-25:30
10 February 2019
Are we being faithful in light of Christ's return? We must live in eager expectation.
The parable of the two servants is about expectantly watching. The servants would have to give account to their master when he returned, and should have lived accordingly. But only one of them did.
The parable of the ten bridesmaids is about patiently waiting. True readiness for Christ requires us to be patient and diligent in waiting. No matter how long he takes to return, may we remain faithful.
The parable of the talents is about faithfully working. Whether Christ returns early or late, we must be busy working for him.
Christ's return is sure. We must therefore live in holiness with a good testimony, staying near to God and his people.
