Quenching the Thirsty Soul

Jesus is the only way to quench our spiritual thirst. We can try to fill our need with many things, but only God can bring contentment.
In the middle of the Feast of Booths, Jesus gave the Gospel invitation. He stood up and cried out, "if anyone is thirsty, let him come to me and drink." Those who know their spiritual thirst and need of forgiveness can find it in Him. It is not those who think they are righteous, but the sinners Jesus calls to find rest.
There is a divided response. Some believed that He was the Christ, and others disagreed. Believing in Christ will mean division, because not all believe. Some in the crowd looked for excuses not to believe, some were confused, some rejected Him outright, and others like Nicodemus believed secretly.
