Blessed are the Pure in Heart

Cleanness in God's eyes is not just external - foremost it is a clean heart before God.

We see purity pictured. Purity's place is in the heart - the will and soul of man. Jesus is not talking about outward ceremony, but the inner rightness before God. Purity means having the holiness of God as our hearts' desire.

Purity's pathway is through regeneration and sanctification. The new covenant grants us a new heart and right standing before God, but we must personally take action against our sin.

Purity's promise is that we will see God. Affections which desire to be with Christ shall be granted - a desire true believers have always had.
