Romans 9:6-13
When we hear of some new idea or thinking that seems to undermine our traditions and belief system we tend to go all out and challenge this with defensive questions.
The apostle Paul, in this section, anticipates defensive questions from Jewish brethren with regard to the good news of the Gospel. To them the Gospel was an attack on their historical roots and their unique standing with God. Paul begins to answers these questions, and ours, by telling them it is God’s prerogative to save and bless whom He will, for His own glory.
