All believers will be evaluated before the Bema judgment seat for rewards based on faithfulness, and teachers will face a stricter judgment. Paul's admonition to the Corinthians was to be careful in how they taught in the church.
We see two aspects of accountability: first, careful building (v. 10 - 11). Paul established a true church upon the belief in Jesus Christ. We have the truth in Christ's life and words, and a true church loves and obeys the Word.
We see there will be a careful inspection (v. 12 - 17). The best material we have for building the church is the Word of God - social action and popularity cannot substitute. There will be a quality check on our lives by God, and worthless deeds will not be rewarded.
