Worldliness in the Church
1 Corinthians 3:1
19 May 2024
There is no such thing as a carnal Christian - a regenerated heart has new desires. While Christians stumble because of the flesh, they want to live pleasing God.
Worldly believers exhibit great inconsistency (v. 1). The Corinthian church were believers called by God, but were inconsistent in their witness because they accepted earthly thinking. All saints have the Holy Spirit, but all saints but exercise themselves in the fight against sin.
Worldly believers have no excuse (v. 2 - 3). The Corinthians were like infants - immature in thinking. Knowing what the Word of God says is not enough; we have to meditate on it and live it out. With self-discipline and by God's grace, we can mature in our walk.
