The Antidote for Spiritual Pride
1 Corinthians 1:26 - 31

In all of the issues and divisions at the Corinthian Church, the root cause was spiritual pride. Because we are equal in Christ, divisions are pride, and pride is selfishness.

Think about God choosing you (v.26 - 29). Meditate on how God has drawn you to Himself. Consider who you were when God called you - a common person needing Him. Despite our lowly status and our sin, according to His love God chose us.

Think about God saving you (v.30 - 31). God provided the work of salvation in Christ - it is God's doing alone. What wisdom we now have in knowing God is because of God. We know our new nature and our destiny; have righteousness in God, growing sanctification; and we are redeemed from slavery to sin so that Christ is our new master.
