The Remedy for Worldliness
James 4:7 - 10

When our loyalties are divided, our choices are hypocritical and inconsistent. James challenges us to submit ourselves to God so that we can receive His grace.
When we are struggling with trials, we need to believe that God is working for our good and His glory. God's authority is not tyrannical, but for our good. It is a firm confidence in God that stands victorious against the devil. A longing to be in close fellowship with God is what keeps us from sin.
God demands our single minded affections and allegiance. Repentance means to be grieved by our sins against God. And James says that if we humble ourselves in repentance, God will exalt us.
