God the Deliverer!
If you have ever lived in a foreign country you know that the language barrier is significant. Depending upon your circumstances, you could feel quite alone and hopeless. That’s what the Israelites were feeling as they were suffering in Egypt. They lived among the Egyptians, and were not even able to understand their language (114:1). God saw their plight and heard their cries, and delivered His people with His mighty hand. He dwelt among His people as their sovereign King (114:2). Brethren, God knows when your plight is dire and will give you the strength to bear up in trials. Wait on Him, for He will example you at the proper time (1 Peter 5:6)
God demonstrated His mighty power to save His people (114:3-6). The Red Sea and river Jordan fled at His command (114:3,5). The mountains and hills quaked at God’s power (114:4,6). God goes to great lengths to save His people. Brethren, God has demonstrated His great power in the resurrection of Jesus Christ. He has delivered us from our slavery to sin, and we are free (John 8:32).
All the earth should praise God in response to His great power demonstrated in His salvation (114:7-8). In delivering the Israelites, He did great supernatural acts on for His people (114:8). There will come a day in the future when the whole world will tremble and bow the knee to the Lord Jesus Christ (Phil 2:10-11).
