The call to seek forgiveness (v. 6 - 7) involves us seeking God earnestly to find out who He is. The only way to understand truth is to listen to the person who is Truth: Jesus Christ. Therefore we must forsake our old ways and ideas, and return to the true and living God.

The cause for seeking forgiveness (v. 8 - 11) is that we are at enmity with God. His Word is more important than our words because His words will stand. What He says happens. We should seek God because He is the sovereign one.

The course for seeking forgiveness (v. 8 - 11) is to recognise God's authority over our lives, and also His provision for us. His Word accomplishes all these things: we can rely on His promises.

The consequences of seeking forgiveness (b. 12 - 13) is that we will know the peace of God regardless of the chaos around us. We will forever know and remember the loving kindness of God.
