82 Courage because of the Cross (John 16:16-33)

Chad Coley Series in John Courage Because of the Cross John 16:16 - 33 09 April 2023 The disciples' courage was based on His death and resurrection - and we live today in light of this same truth. Courage is trusting God no matter what happens in our lives. We can have invincible joy. When the resurrection morning arrived, nobody could take the disciples' joy away. Death was defeated and Christ's victory would not be taken away. We can have intimate love. The Holy Spirit would lead the disciples into an increasing knowledge of Jesus Christ, just as He does with us. As we grow in our knowledge of Christ, we grow in love and obedience. We can have indescribable peace. In Christ we have rest of soul regardless of what trouble goes on around us. Christ does not change, and our hearts can rest in Him. We can have impregnable hope. Opposition will come for Christ's followers, but the resurrection is proof He has overcome the world. We can have courage because He is risen, and will never be defeated.
