So much of our fears and anxieties come from uncertainties in our lives. When Jesus told the disciples He was leaving, they were filled with fear instead of trusting Him. To strengthen their faith, He promised them assurance of faith, and the coming of the Holy Spirit.

Disciples of Jesus Christ will obey Him. If we love Christ, we are committed to self-sacrifice for His will. We want to do what He asks because our affections are set on Him. We know His will is always good for us.

Jesus promised to send someone just like Him: the Holy Spirit. While He was limited by space and time in his body, the Holy Spirit would indwell all the disciples. The Spirit would help strengthen, teach, and encourage them.

As we live with Christ, we will grow, and His nature will be revealed to us. His presence is ever with us through the Spirit; we only have to be humble enough to ask for help.
