Faith Overcomes Fear, Part 1

Fear paralyzes us from doing what we need to. When Jesus told the disciples He was going to leave them, they were filled with fear instead of trusting Him.

Fear demonstrates weak faith. Peter was troubled that Christ was going to leave, and refused to believe that he would deny Jesus. But Jesus' prayer held up Peter's faith even though he stumbled. Christ commanded His disciples to trust Him rather than be dominated by fear.

We must believe that God is good if we are to overcome fear and anxiety in our lives. The antidote to worry is exercising faith. If the disciples belived that Jesus was the Son of God, they would have had no fear.
