Setting The Scene For What Must Take Place
Revelation 4
25 February 2018
We wonder what heaven is like, because it is our eternal home. In Revelation 4, John describes his vision of paradise.
Heaven is another dimension of existence outside our space and time, and its focus is Jesus Christ. The throne room of heaven is where God governs the present affairs of earth. He declares the "things which must happen," and so they do.
Like Ezekiel's vision of heaven, John resorts to using metaphor, because God, and his domain are indescribable. We see a vision of 24 elders representing believers praising God; and a vision of angels singing "holy, holy, holy!" In heaven, the focus of everyone is on God.
When we get to heaven, we will know who is worthy of glory: God alone.
