I have been contacted twice in the span of a month by two different people of a particular group that is desiring to partner with NCC. They call themselves the New Heaven and New Earth Church. They are a Korean based cult group, and are officially known as “Shincheonji Church of Jesus, the Temple of the Tabernacle of the Testimony.” The group was founded in the 1980s by Lee Man-Hee, who claims to have a special ability to interpret the Bible. He teaches that the Bible is primarily composed of metaphors, and he alone has the spiritual gift for correctly interpreting them. Brethren, this group denies the Trinity. They speak of a Jesus, but not the Jesus of the Bible. Apart from the Biblical Christ there is no gospel, no salvation (Jn 14:6).
Here in Australia they have built a presence in Sydney and Melbourne and are working hard to come into Adelaide. They are very friendly and like to invite people to their “Bible seminars.” They hold up the carrot in front of churches that they have seen “thousands of conversions.”
Brethren, when it comes to cults we must test their words, “because many false prophets have gone out into the world” (1 Jn 4:1). For there are many that claim to be a “saviour” and “from God.” In reality, these are antichrists (1 Jn 2:18). The standard that we compare their words to is the Bible. It is God’s word alone that is truth, everything else is false. It is by knowing the truth that you can easily recognise the counterfeit lies of Satan. Remember, Light does not fellowship with darkness (2 Cor 6:14). “If any man is preaching to you a gospel contrary to what you have received, he is to be accursed” (Gal 1:9).
