Well another InStep conference is over and again as God’s ‘children’ we were spiritually fed and challenged. The truth we all were confronted with must not be allowed to sit in the back of our minds to slowly be forgotten. As the text above tells us - there are dire consequences for not being obedient to the commands of the Lord.
May we deal with our sin, worldliness, prayerlessness, lukewarmness and lovelessness as obedient followers of Christ Jesus. Let us not be arrogant and prideful by blatantly continuing on the same as before!
After all as J. Dwight Pentecost in his book Design for Discipleship rightly says:
When did the servant have the right to give orders to his master? When did the bondslave have a right to question the commands of his Lord? By what right do you who know Jesus Christ as a personal Saviour sit in judgment on the Word of God and the will of God when God demands absolute obedience to it?
