Body Life 101
Colossians 3:12 - 17
Our new position in Christ affects all our relationships, especially those in the church.
Paul's instruction is to love each other (v. 12 - 17), forgiving as we have been forgiven. We are a new creation in Christ, so let us walk in a way that makes evident our new nature. To love is to prefer others over ourselves.
Let the peace of God dwell within (v. 15). Forgiveness is putting wrongs aside and not bringing them up anymore. Love holds together; a lack of forgiveness divides. Let us speak what builds each other up.
Let the Word dwell in us (v. 16). Let it dwell richly in individuals, and in the body. Let the Bible be at home in our hearts.
Let Christ be the basis of all we do (v. 17). This means remembering him in all we do, and living in dependence on him. The aim of our lives is to praise God's name.
