Hallelujahs in Heaven
Revelation 19:1 - 10
01 January 2023
John has a vision of a great multitude in heaven praising God. The multitude rejoice because God is glorified in His works and judgements.
After Babylon is destroyed, the crowd in heaven praise God for His judgement on her sin which corrupted the earth. All God's works are good, and we see this clearly when great evil is punished.
John also has a vision of a marriage in heaven - the coming together of God and His saints at long last. The dowry, or bride price in this case was no less than the death of His Son. Jesus Christ reconciled man to God, and will one day return to take the Church to Himself. He has prepared a place for us, and Revelation gives us a glimpse of this future union.

The Fall Of Babylon
Revelation 18
11 September 2022
Unlike Babylon the church which is destroyed in the middle of the tribulation, Babylon the city is not destroyed until the end. In chapter 18, we hear four important announcements about her.
We hear the voice of judgement on Babylon. The great city polluted the whole earth by her intoxication with riches and pleasure. The economic system of the world was tied up in this evil city.
We hear the voice of separation, calling God's people to come out of Babylon. God was to judge her for her sin, and unless God's people separated themselves, they would share in her punishment.
We hear the voice of mourning over Babylon. The wealth unbelievers loved is ruined. The people mourn because they had set their hopes upon earth's riches.
We hear the voice of rejoicing. The saints of God can at last rejoice knowing that justice has been executed against Babylon for her persecution of them.

Babylon: The False Religious System

Babylon is pictured in John's vision as a prostitute seated on a great beast. The spiritual culture of the last days will be that of a one world church under Antichrist's power.
During the tribulation time, the world will be split into ten kingdoms with ten kings. The spiritual rule over the earth will be a one world religion, a false church. This false church is seen as a prostitute - unfaithful and obsessed with riches and pleasure. John calls this idolatrous church Babylon, and she will rule the earth until the ten kings to destroy her. Even in the disastrous times of the tribulation, God is in control, and will use the world's political power to destroy evil.

Rise of the Antichrist
Revelation 13:1-10
30 May 2021
There is an empire that we see rise from the nations in Revelation 13. The man at head is the antichrist, who is empowered by Satan.
The antichrist will rise as one of ten kings (Daniel 7:23 - 24). He will lead his empire to fight against God's people, even setting himself up as God (2 Thess. 2:4). His world empire will be empowered by Satan himself, and he will demand to be worshipped as God.
The time of the tribulation is a temporary punishment for Israel until they turn to Him. Everyone whose name is not in the Book of Life will worship the beast; but God is ever in control.
