Mood is shared, whether for good or bad. As Christians, we are to be encouraging of one another. Paul was encouraged by Titus bringing good news to him of the Corinthian church's repentance.

Comfort and joy through a loyal friend (v. 13). This is a reciprocal thing. A heart full of joy overflows and encourages another. As Christians, we have no reason to be down, but every reason to rejoice.

Comfort and joy through an obedient church (v. 14 - 16). Paul writes, "I rejoice that in everything I have confidence in you." Although the Corinthians had at first greatly hurt Paul and his reputation, he dares to trust in them again. Do we affirm our love for one another?

May we find the joy of Christ daily, and encourage one another in it also.
